Download Free Any experience with this gameklip alternative?

So I recently rooted my phone and started using my PS3 controller a lot more. I've been researching ways to attach my phone to the controller and people bring up the Gameklip quite a bit. I have a few issues with the Gameklip.

  $20 for what is essentially a molded piece of plastic is not terribly palatable.

  Unless you have an S3 or S4 you have to use their "Universal Mount" which is just a strip of adhesive you stick to a random case.

  I don't want an adhesive strip attached to my case and I really don't want to take my phone out of it's case and stick it in another case whenever I want to play a game.

  
  

So for those reasons the Gamekilp wasn't a solution for me. Today I stumbled across this product while browsing Amazon:

I was just wondering if anyone had any sort of experience with it. I can't find any written reviews anywhere (despite the fact that I can find it on several different websites like ebay). I was able to find a single Youtube video:

But for whatever reason the reviewer didn't show the device actually fitted to the PS3 controller.

Anyway it's only ~$8 so I may just bite the bullet and try it out blind but I thought I'd ask if anyone had any experience.
